The Resilience Academy organized two data curation events — one in Zanzibar with students from the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), and one in Dar es Salaam with students from Ardhi University (ARU). The events were designed not only to equip students with practical skills in data curation and quality assurance, but also to curate geospatial datasets collected from ProWAS SASA partners for adding into the Climate Risk Database (CRD). Working hands‑on, students took the datasets through structured quality control processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability — including coordinate system alignment, attribute verification, and metadata documentation. This gave participants direct, real‑world experience of the standards field‑collected geospatial data must meet before it can be published as open data.
