Terms of Use
Last updated: 1 September 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms of Use govern the Resilience Academy learning platform, operated by the University of Turku on behalf of the Resilience Academy consortium. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate registration details and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Accounts are personal and may not be shared or transferred. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or threaten the security of the platform.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to: misuse or attempt to disrupt the platform; access content or data you are not authorised to see; upload unlawful, infringing or harmful material; harass other users; or misrepresent certificates or results. Coursework you submit must be your own except where collaboration is part of the assignment.
4. Content and licences
Course materials, datasets and other content on the platform belong to the Resilience Academy consortium, its partner institutions or their licensors. Openly licensed materials are marked as such and may be reused under their stated licence; all other content is for your personal learning use. Content you submit remains yours; you grant the consortium a non-exclusive licence to host, display and assess it as part of running the platform, and to report aggregate learning outcomes.
5. Certificates
Certificates record completion of the stated course or programme requirements at the time of issue. Each certificate carries a verification link; altering a certificate or claiming one that was not issued to you is a breach of these terms.
6. Availability and changes
The platform is provided free of charge for education. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may change, add or retire features, courses or content. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially affect ongoing programmes.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the consortium is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the platform. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Privacy
Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Questions about these terms: resilienceacademyorg@gmail.com. Last updated: 1 September 2026.
