About this course

The sub-module presents principles and concepts of regional and urban climates including the regional factors affecting the climate by looking into the urban Heat Island (UHI). Examples and principles of urban weather and climate observations will be demonstrated on lectures. Student will learn one method for resolving urban temperatures in high resolution using satellite remote sensing and land cover information.

student will understand the principles of regional and urban climates, will understand the mechanics of UHI and will know how to observe urban weather phenomena and lastly a student will learn modelling a continuous urban temperature with the aid of remotely sensed data and in situ observations
